Responsible for BIOS code development for desktop and notebook platforms or tools using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., programming languages, compilers, assemblers and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies. Responsible for the delivery of products within budget, schedule, and quality guidelines.
Job Scription:
Participates in the preparation, review, and analysis of BIOS requirements and specifications.
Participates in the creation of design, functional, technical, and/or user documentation of complex BIOS features
Develop, test, and integrate code for new or existing BIOS code
Provide sustaining or maintenance support to existing BIOS code
Maintain source code revision control.
Clearly communicate project issues and status both across teams and to management
Conduct troubleshooting, root-causing and bug fix for BIOS related issues.
Accurately log project schedule, defect, and other data into the appropriate databases.
Team work and leadership with other functional teams like EE, Testing, etc...
Qualification:
Familiar with code programming in assembly language, Microsoft ASM is preferred.
Ability to program in higher level languages
BIOS/Firmware/Software programming experience.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
In Depth understanding of PC hardware and software interactions.
Good interpersonal/communication skills.
Ability to operate as an individual contributor and within a team environment.
Good English skill.

The individual will be responsible for interaction at all phase of local activities, including Design, Development, CAD, Testing, Prototyping, tooling and initial production (validation); meeting timelines, communication to the team, finding solutions to problems, managing expectations, and delivering to those expectations. The individual will have the shared responsibility of assuring that new products are successfully manufactured: meet quality and consumer expectations; and achieve timely introductions.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br><br>1. Manage the development of a new product from brief completion to first product shipment.<br>2. Thoroughly communicate (inform) in a timely manner to all members of the product development team the progress, status, and configuration of the project. These members include local contract manufacturer, internal R&D, quality, and operations.<br>3. Lead sustaining engineering projects to reduce cost, improve performance and/or functionality, and/or improve quality.<br>4. Maintain project timelines.<br>5. Must create, collate, and maintain all project and product documentation.<br>6. All work must be done timely with maximum communication and with minimum errors.<br>7. Must adhere to all applicable internal and external process requirements<br>8. Must determine which aspects of each project require outside resources and must justify and manage those resources.<br>9. Must determine the best solutions to solve functional, costing, and timing issues.<br>10. Must prioritise and manage tasks effectively.<br>11. Must organize and manage project and product documentation for effective communication and ready reference.<br><br><br>Requirements:<br><br>1. Minimum of a BS in either Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.<br>2. 5+ years of managing projects for product development of consumer plastic products.<br>3. Must be able to work in a team environment.<br>4. Must have firm footing in injection molding of plastics, tooling design, and electro-mechanical assemblies and methods.<br>5. Working knowledge of Design Controls, GMP, DOE, Hazard Analysis, and Regulatory requirements.<br>6. Experience with OTC's or Medical Devices, blow molding, and ISO13485 is a plus <br>7. Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.<br>8.
