Job Purpose Statement<br><br>-Cooperate with the foreign expat segment leader and act as the key interface to the local team.<br>-Overall responsibility for the efficient use of all available resources to achieve the production of components in line with the customer’s requirements and ensure the products conform to the required quality standard.<br>-To provide a working environment where all employees feel challenged and valued, and that their involvement is key to the success of the business.<br>-To engender Continuous Improvement in all activities. <br>-Responsible for managing the department and its personnel. Encouraging team work, cross function co-operation and ensuring a customer focused attitude across all interactions in the business.<br>-Leadership and development can also be demonstrated to other personnel outside the manager’s direct area of responsibility.<br>-To support development of departmental KPI′s and to manage using performance data, objectives linked to the business objectives, regular assessments and goal setting.<br><br>Principal Accountabilities<br><br>1. Achievement of the weekly production plan with the available resources and the minimal possible cost.<br>2. Support establishment of KPI to measure the department’s performance and drive continuous improvement.<br>3. Ensure all manufacturing related staff are fully trained and conversant with all aspects of the Quality Management System.<br>4. Application of lean manufacturing techniques to improve all aspects of quality, cost and delivery.<br>5. The motivation of all employees, using reason and logic and an ability to demonstrate a personal commitment to the good of the business. To lead by example and must be able to relate to and value people.<br>6. To monitor and control attendance and absence levels, initiating back to work interviews, counselling and disciplinary procedure where necessary. Maintain a fair and even minded approach.<br>7. To maximise output and machine availability, using OEE and idle time as measures to drive improvements.<br>8. To develop a system involving all members of the manufacturing team, that uses a process audit approach to ensure all aspects of housekeeping, process documentation control, environmental health and safety, training, etc.<br>9. To lead project teams to introduce new working practices, processes and equipment to drive change and improvement in the business.<br>10. To ensure the application of modern mistake proofing practices to all processes, to drive reduction in the production of non-conforming product and thereby eliminate scrap and rework, internal ppm and customer ppm.<br>11. To participate in, and plan, the introduction of new products into manufacturing and the re-sampling of products that have not been produced for over 6 months, ensuring all aspects of product planning, tooling, gauges, fixtures, etc are available before being planned into production.<br>12. To review skill levels and assess training needs, developing training plans in conjunction with the HR Department that addresses areas of personal and business needs and weaknesses.<br>13. To lead activities within the Cost Improvement Project Team to provide annualised cost savings.<br><br>Qualifications<br><br>-Educated to a minimum of Diploma or Batchelor Degree in a manufacturing or associated engineering discipline.<br><br>Knowledge<br><br>-Lean manufacturing techniques.<br>-Change management.<br>-Must have the ability to relate to and value people.<br>-Modern quality management tools and techniques.<br>-Knowledge of CNC machining would be beneficial, but not essential.<br>-PC literate, knowledge of SAP/R3 would be beneficial but not essential.<br>-Understanding of cost structures, budget/forecast frameworks and an overall financial awareness are pre-requisites.<br>-Knowledge of the vigorous quality standard demanded by the automotive industry is essential.<br>-Knowledge of mechanical/electrical and maintenance systems would be an advantage.<br><br>Experience<br><br>-Experience within CAS manufacturing environment for the related product.<br>-Additional experience within any other high volume automotive environment.<br>-Minimum 3–5 years experience within a similar role.<br>-Experience in leading change management activities would be an advantage.<br>-Experience in the effective leading of project teams is essential, especially within the field of introducing new products, processes or equipment.<br>-Experience within a highly specialised, batch manufacturing environment would also be beneficial.<br><br>工作地点:常熟</p>
